Rustic Loom
Perfect boho home decor accent for your table.
100% Cotton
Size: 14 x 108" square (approx)
Color: Maize yellow/ Natural white front/ Natural Linen/ Beige back
Machine wash cold. Tumble or line dry.
This table runner is made of heavy sac- linen with a slub detail in weave, backed with 100% natural linen sourced from India. Each placemat is hand batik painted with wax, and then hand dyed Mr. Edmunson, a local craftsman in Ghana, and then sewn in Brooklyn.
Batik is a laborious and intricate craft whereby artisans perform several rounds of block printing fabric with wax and then dyeing to create a layered pattern. The wax is then removed at the end of this process to reveal the beautiful design.
Every piece comes with a beautiful hang tag, with a description of Rustic Loom's process.
I designed this pattern in my Brooklyn studio and worked with the batik artisan via skype/ phone to produce the fabric. The dot pattern is inspired by geometry in nature, and made of layers of batik wax printing and dyeing.
Placemats can be used in multiples or as one centerpiece for the table. Mix and match with our throw pillows, placemats, napkins, and runners.
